When: 1 -31st December 2018
Grow a beard, raise funds and help us beat bowel cancer!
Beards aren’t just for hipsters, those with tattoos, men that ride motorbikes or people that are too lazy to shave. Anyone can help make real change happen. All you need to do is ditch your razor, grow a beard (some chin stubble or bum fluff), and promote your facial hair to raise awareness and much needed funds for bowel cancer, New Zealand’s second most diagnosed cancer.
Decembeard® runs from the 1st to the 31st of December and is now in its fifth year. Sign up and you could be in with the chance to win to win a GoPro Hero7 when you sign up! (T&C’s apply) and some other amazing prizes, so register today and help us make a difference!
Simply click the ‘Sign Up’ button, set up your fundraising page, explain why you are getting involved and set yourself a target. Then share your page with your friends to start raising money. Download our Decembeard® Fundraising Toolkit and poster to get you going
Launched in 2012 in the UK by Beating Bowel Cancer, Decembeard® was created as a fun way to draw attention to the UK’s second biggest cancer killer – bowel cancer.
One of the many things New Zealand has in common with the UK, as well as our joint love of manly facial hair, is that bowel cancer is also New Zealand’s second biggest cancer killer. However it shouldn’t be, as bowel cancer is beatable and treatable if caught early.
That’s why we’re asking Kiwi men to grow a beard this December and raise funds to help us to beat bowel cancer and save lives.
Women and children are also encouraged to take part in Decembeard® New Zealand by raising awareness of bowel cancer and encouraging their fathers, brothers, husbands, boyfriends, partners and male friends to ditch their razors and grow a beard for Decembeard®!
Start growing and start making a difference!
